Help for Foster Families in Yamhill County During COVID-19
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, systems and networks meant to care for those in foster care—and the foster families who serve them—are being challenged and taxed with growing needs. School closures, significant economic changes, and a limited pool of foster homes are adding additional strain to our state’s current capacity. We as a community need to step up and come alongside them with radical love and support during this time.
In response, Every Child has launched a community mobilization effort called My NeighbOR, designed to quickly meet the fast-growing needs of children and families in Oregon’s foster care system.
We want you to know that we are here to serve the foster families in Yamhill County, "neighbor helping neighbor" in our own community.
The process is simple
If you would like to meet a need for foster families, visit everychildoregon.org/myneighbor/, and let us know how you can help.
We will match the needs of foster families with what you have offered and work with you to facilitate your donation.
In the spirit of My NeighbOR, we are working to have the needs of Yamhill County foster families matched by donors within Yamhill County. Once we have a match, arrangements for pickup or delivery will be made.
Ways you can help
Let us know on the My NeighbOR online form if you are interested in donating any of these items:
- Supplies, such as diapers, wipes, formula, basic groceries, arts & craft supplies for children, clothing for growing babies, even beds and bedding.
- Gift cards for groceries or basic needs from stores in our community (such as Safeway, Roth's, Walmart, Winco, and Fred Meyer).
- Put together a Flash Box! This tote of goodies offers a surprise dose of encouragement to foster families. Boxes are filled with gifts for children and adults to enjoy. Flash boxes can be assembled by an individual or collectively with a group.
