Stepping into foster care is a significant decision, and it can be intimidating. We’re here to walk with you through this journey.
You are not alone.
In Oregon, there are three terms used for the types of foster care:
Up to 14 days of care for foster/resource families. Check out our Respite page for more information.
Caring for children in foster care temporarily when a long-term placement is unavailable or the DHS office is closed. Shelter families care for children for 20 days or less.
Providing a home for a child in foster care until they can be reunified with a birth parent or adopted by a relative, foster parent, or another individual.
